Robert Downey Jr.’s Final Avengers Paycheck Will Seriously Blow Your Mind!

As Avengers: Endgame continues to smash box office records worldwide, Marvel fans are turning their attention on the actors who play the iconic roles we’ve grown to love. How much exactly are our favorite superheroes earning from their incredible performances in the Avengers franchise?

While there’s no doubt that these actors and actresses are earning millions thanks to the massive popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’re curious to see just how much exactly they make from every film they have starred in.

The man at the forefront of the latest Avengers installment, Robert Downey Jr., is obviously one of the highest-earning members on the cast, but the actor has kept mum about the actual figure on his most recent paycheck. Let us unveil how the iconic role made Robert one of the highest-paid actors of all time.

The Initial Deal

According to sources who’ve acquired data from RDJ’s signed checks, Robert was paid a measly $500,000 when he inked the deal to play the role of Iron Man in 2008. At the time, Robert was a struggling actor whose reputation in the industry was on the rocks, due to his struggles with drug abuse and alcoholism.

The deal turned out to be the best decision of Robert’s career, one that paved way for him to become one of the most sought-after actors in the world.

Not only did the film became an instant success,  but it also opened up more opportunities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to become a global phenomenon by adding more iconic characters to its superhero arsenal. After the immense success of the first installment, RDJ was able to negotiate for a better salary by the time they made Iron Man 2.

The Estimated Earnings

According to his signed checks, Robert reportedly negotiated for an astounding $10 million to star in Iron Man 2 but the man didn’t stop there. As his character’s popularity grew, so did his paycheck.

RDJ was earning a staggering $75 million by the time he starred in Iron Man 3! Not only that, but the Marvel management also had to spend millions just to make the iconic Iron Man suit.

In the first Avengers movie, RDJ reportedly earned a $10 million base pay, plus $40 million backend bonus after the movie proved to be a smashing success in theaters, thus, earning a total of $50 million from one flick alone. He made less than $10 million in Age of Ultron, which was pretty much the same as the previous Avengers film.

His $40 million streaks continued with Captain America: Civil War. In Spider-Man Homecoming, he only earned $15 million since he didn’t have a major role in the film. However, RDJ earned a staggering $75 million each when he starred in the highly-anticipated films Avengers: Infinity War, and the epic conclusion to the saga, Avengers: Endgame.

The Total Earnings

All in all, RDJ has earned a total of $380.5 million from Marvel franchise alone! His massive fortune enables the actor to splurge lavishly — after all, he has deserved it!
