How to Be Successful in Three Easy Steps

If someone asked you whether you have changed anything in the course of your life, you would probably say that you’ve changed your clothes, hair, address, job, habits, behavior… But something that people almost never change is their way of thinking. More specifically, they never change their mindset. You can change your outside appearance in a blink of an eye, but how you think and what’s inside isn’t that easily changed.

[su_quote class=”cust-pagination”] “Once your mindset changes, everything on the outside will change along with it.” ― Steve Maraboli[/su_quote]

You should know one thing: nothing in this world is as powerful as a changed mind. What does this mean? Well, a different mindset can give you a new perspective in life, help you get a new angle when solving a problem, help you gain new experiences, and take advantage of everything life has to offer. Your mind is the most powerful thing in the world, so use it. This is why you alone are responsible for your success.

Remember the following three things so you could achieve optimal success.

 Ignore your critics

Do you know what were the odds for you to be born? Approximately one in 400 trillion. That means that you, just like every person in this world, are extraordinary and destined for great things from the start. There has never been in the entire human history, nor will there ever be, another person just like you. You are a talented human being and since you beat the odds and are born, why would you have a lack of self-esteem and self-respect?

You are a miracle by yourself, so don’t ever think that you are not destined for greatness because your greatest roadblock is negativity, whether it’s coming from others or yourself. Make loving yourself a priority and be your own support. And if you have someone in your life who is hovering over your shoulder and trying to push you down and break you, get rid of them and prove that you’re better than them.

 Have high standards

Never settle for something that’s beneath your level and believe you don’t deserve better, or that you’re not motivated enough. Of course, it’s not easy to reach for something bigger and better when you can just settle for something that’s easily achieved, but try to change your mind from that negative type of thinking. Think about the difference between something you absolutely have to do and something you think you should do.

For example, you know you have to eat every day, but you also know that you should eat healthily. The easiest thing to do is to eat junk food and not exercise. But what’s easy isn’t always right. Use that mind of yours to get enough motivation to do what you should, not what you are used to. You’ll earn a lot of self-respect if you learn to have this mindset, to have enough strength and will power to do what you’re supposed to do. This also applies to the people in your life. Are you settling for someone who’s not treating you right because you don’t think you deserve better? Realize you do deserve better and get out of that toxic relationship.

You should raise your standards, turn every should into must and this way raise the quality of your life.

 Practice makes perfect

Before you can achieve something, you have to practice at home, alone, in private before presenting the idea to other people. You can’t master a skill set right away. You have to practice it and make that practice a recurring routine or habit. If you don’t have daily exposure to what you’re trying to learn, you’ll never master it.

Learning something requires discipline and takes immense patience and persistence. And if you ever consider stopping because it’s too hard, or you think that someone like you cannot achieve something great, you should change your mindset. Besides, if you need motivation, think about the reward you will get after putting in so much effort. Just think about why you’re trying so hard and push yourself further. You should realize that positive thoughts go a long way.

This is how the most successful people on earth think because they would never have achieved anything if they weren’t motivated and self-driven. If they listened to the critics, had low standards and didn’t put in a lot of time to practice their skills, they would be just common people, and the world would not be where it is today.
