Adam Levine Turned Down a Very Lucrative Deal with The Voice for This Surprising Reason

Harsh and abrupt — these words may suffice to describe Adam Levine’s decision to leave The Voice in May without giving his fans the reason.

This is because he had been in the show since its inception in 2011 as a judge who helped hone the undeniable talent of the contestants.

So when he revealed that he was saying goodbye to the show, people can’t help but speculate on what went wrong. But it turns out, the Maroon 5 frontman wasn’t just turning his back on the show, but on a massive paycheck as well.

Carson Daly announced the bad news on the Today Show

Next Seasons

The Voice fans’ world crumbled when the shocking announcement was made, leaving people scrambling to find the reason for Adam’s departure.

Its host, Carson Daly, delivered the sad news on the Today Show and it didn’t take too long for the judge himself to air his side, confirming the statements.

While we don’t know why he chose to exit the show, details soon started emerging, which may give you an idea.

Apparently, Adam’s departure wasn’t planned. After all, he had been in the show for 16 seasons that spanned for eight years.

You might say that he just got tired from doing the same job for years and years, but two weeks before the news came, NBC actually revealed that the singer was returning in Fall. He was supposed to join John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and frienemy Blake Shelton as mentors on season 17.

Adam Levine allegedly left The Voice because of his family

Massive Paycheck

According to reports, the -year-old had actually signed to hop on seasons 17 and 18. Adam allegedly goes home with north of $14 million every season, a source claimed, so if you do the math, then he is definitely missing out on $30million, which is quite neat to take home as a paycheck to wife Behati Prinsloo and kids Dusty Rose and Gio Grace.

For the Family?

With all these details, it only makes Adam’s departure from The Voice more suspicious. It’s a big amount that most people wouldn’t refuse but if we are going to take into account the news that he left the show to spend more time with his family, then he is definitely on the right track because it’s something you really can’t put a price tag on.

The celeb couple also previously said they wanted more kids, albeit they didn’t quite see eye to eye on how many more they wanted.

Other Reasons

Other outlets predict he suffered burnout from the show’s demanding schedule. The Voice required long shoots, live shows, and press work, which allegedly ate up Adam’s time to pursue his creative endeavors.

Gwen Stefani will take on the vacant judge seat on The Voice

In a lengthy post, he opened up about this but clearly opted to leave out the reason behind this. But what was obvious was that he was firm about his decision and was more than ready to move on.

He also went to thank key people on his The Voice tenure, especially the country singer who he famously “bickered” with. Gwen Stefani, Blakes’s girlfriend, replaced Adam.
