In an interview with Editor-in-Chief Edward Eninful of British Vogue, Oprah revealed how she had one fateful encounter at the airport that convinced her to spend a whopping $70,000,000 to have her private jet. According to her, she encountered a rude fan who commented on how she’s not acting like what she did on TV.

Oprah revealed how she was so shocked when the woman suddenly came and intruded her space when the TV personality was just minding her own business. She said the woman continued saying rude comments like how she often saw Oprah hugging everybody on TV. However, she was surprised to see Oprah merely sitting down, plugging her earphones on and minding her business while ignoring everybody.

Oprah recalled how she defended herself and told the woman she remains authentic to herself, regardless of what people think or say about her. While she hugs people on TV, Oprah says she doesn’t necessarily embrace people when she’s at the airport. Oprah explained how it would be rude to approach a stranger and hug them, so you got to respect their privacy.

The Upside

Despite that dreadful experience, Oprah said she was thankful it happened nonetheless as she realized she made the best decision in her life. According to her, she didn’t regret spending that huge amount back then, not when she’s now reaping the benefits of having a plane.  Oprah reveals how she can now travel with ease without worrying about missing her flights at all.

Aside from that, Oprah reveals how it’s easier for her to attend business appointments, her causes, or simply traveling with her family overseas thanks to her private jet. The renowned TV host also considers her plane the greatest luxury she had.
