Wendy Williams at Risk of Losing MILLIONS Following Her Divorce with Cheating Husband
Millions of Wendy Williams fans thought that the television talk show host would have her happily-ever-after ending with her husband, Kevin Hunter. After all, Williams and Hunter’s relationship has been going strong for more than two decades!
However, Wendy shocked the world with the news that she had filed for divorce from her longtime husband and manager, Hunter. Being the gossip queen that she is, William was surprisingly quiet about her own love life on her The Wendy Williams Show, where she openly airs her opinion on the private lives of famous celebrities.
This leaves millions of her followers wondering the reason behind their sudden divorce, as well as the outcome of Williams’ financial empire, considering the two have built a large fortune over the decades.
Family lawyers and financial advisors are sharing their bold predictions over the outcome of this high-profile divorce. They also state what it would mean to Williams’ wealth empire.
The Highlights
In an interview with the Forbes, David Rae asked whether Williams wants to publicize the entire divorce process or opt for a quiet separation to keep things under the wraps.
According to the renowned divorce attorney Maryam Atighech, it’s likely that Williams will choose the high road since she doesn’t want to be in the spotlight while dealing with one of the most sensitive and personal matters of her life.
Maryam also suspects that Williams might end up shelling out more money to set up a confidentiality clause to wrap up the divorce process quickly and quietly.
The Wealth Division
However, the situation becomes slightly tricky when you take Wendy’s net worth into consideration. The divorce could especially be messy since the two didn’t sign a prenup before their marriage which makes Hunter entitled to half of Wendy’s wealth!
Over the 22 years, Williams and Hunter have been married, the estranged couple has accumulated an astounding $60 million of combined net worth.
Their fortune stems from the books they published together, their projects, endorsements, and most importantly, the Wendy Williams show, through which the talk show host earns an estimated $15 million every year.
While it’s easy to determine which party will reap the future royalties of a particular project or endorsement, it would be difficult to divide the assets and wealth they accumulated during their marriage.
It also goes beyond their properties like mansions, cars, and other investments. And the fact that there was no prenuptial agreement set up between the two, makes this divorce even messier.
The Importance of Agreement
While prenup remains a controversial issue between couples who want to share their wealth and assets conjugally, Maryam reiterates the importance of such agreements to protect each party’s interest.
Maryam says that the prenup can help simplify the legalities and separation process of divorced couples. Not only does it protect the hard-earned money you’ve saved before marriage, but it’ll also spare you from heartaches and emotional turmoil as it helps expedite the divorce process.
